Barot Valley – Bir Billing Tour Package

Day 1 — Overnight Volvo Journey from Delhi to Bir

Distance / Time: ~490 km | ~10-11.5 hours

The Route: Board your overnight AC Volvo bus from Delhi. Travel comfortably through the plains of Punjab and enter Himachal Pradesh via Una / Kangra to reach Bir by morning.

Day 2 — Bir Arrival – Paragliding at Billing – Monasteries & Sunset – Overnight in Bir

About Bir: Bir is renowned worldwide for its paragliding scene, peaceful Tibetan settlements, tea gardens and vibrant cafe culture nestled at the base of the Dhauladhar mountains.

Distance from Bir to Bir Billing Paragliding Point | Time: ~14 km uphill | ~40–50 mins by local cab

Morning (07:00 AM – 09:30 AM): Arrive in Bir, meet your local cab driver, check into your hotel or guesthouse, freshen up and enjoy breakfast.

Mid-Day: Drive from Bir to Bir Billing Paragliding point. Enjoy tandem paragliding from Billing (2,430 m) descending to the Bir Landing Site (1,525 m). Flight duration is typically 15 to 30 minutes.

Afternoon: Explore Bir Tibetan Colony and visit the ornate Chokling Monastery, Bangoru Waterfall and Palpung Sherabling Monastery. Stop by local artisan cafes for lunch and Himalayan tea.

Evening: Head to the Bir Paragliding Landing Ground to watch gliders land against the backdrop of the sunset.

Day 3 — Bir to Barot Valley via Baijnath – Riverside Camping | Hotel Stay

About Barot Valley: Barot is a secluded Himalayan valley carved by the Uhl River, surrounded by cedar forests, historic hydel infrastructure and trout fishing streams.

Distance / Time: ~55 km | ~2-2.5 hours

Morning (08:30 AM): Have breakfast and check out from Bir. Drive to Barot, Visit the 13th-century stone nagara-style Shree Shiv Baijnath Temple Kangra Himachal Pradesh in Baijnath town (~12 km from Bir). Continue via Ghatasani along Barot Valley Road through pine and deodar forests.

Afternoon: Arrive in Barot and check into your riverside camp / hotel. Savor freshly caught local rainbow trout or traditional Himachali dishes for lunch.

Evening: Visit the British-era Shanan Hydel Project reservoir and haulage railway tracks. Tour the government trout breeding farm. Take a light riverside trail along the Uhl River toward Multhan Village.

Overnight stay and dinner at the hotel / camp in Barot.

Day 4 — Lapas Waterfall Walk – Transfer to Bir – Evening Volvo to Delhi

Mid-Day (12:00 PM – 01:00 PM): Check out from your Barot camp / hotel. Return drive by cab from Barot to Bir. Relax at Tibetan cafes, pick up local handicrafts and Kangra tea or take a gentle stroll through the Chaugan tea estates.

Evening Departure: Board your return AC Volvo bus from Bir to Delhi (buses typically depart between 05:30 PM and 07:00 PM).
