Distance: 185 km | 8-9 hours
The Route: Pickup from the hotel/ bus stand from the Manali in the very early morning (5-6 am) and proceeds to Kaza via Solang Valley, Atal Tunnel, Kokksar, Gramphu, Chhatru and Batal, Kuzum Pass and Losar.
The Challenge:The 60 km stretch from Gramphu to Batal is a rugged, unpaved boulder track. After a quick stop at Batal (Chacha Chachi Chandra Dhaba), you will climb the mighty Kunzum Pass (15,060 ft) before descending into Losar and finally reaching Kaza.

Langza: Famous for its massive, iconic golden Buddha statue looking over the valley and prehistoric marine fossils.

Distance / Time: ~100 km | 4–5 hours sightseeing
The Route Head back towards Manali, crossing Kunzum Pass once more. Take the narrow, rugged 14 km diversion from Batal to reach Chandratal.
The Experience: Park the vehicle and take the scenic, flat 1 km walk to the edge of the crescent-shaped lake. Watch the crystal-clear water change colors from deep sapphire to turquoise under the mountain sun.
Overnight stay at the camps in Chandratal
Distance / Time: ~115 km | 6–7 hours
The Route: Trace your way back from Chandratal to Batal, and navigate the bumpy Gramphu-Batal stretch one last time. Pass back through the Atal Tunnel and descend into the lush green landscape of Manali.
Reach Manali by evening and drop at the hotel or bus stand.
⚠️ Important Note: At Chandratal Lake camps are set up about 2-3 km away from the lake to preserve the ecosystem. Pack heavy woollens—nights here drop below freezing.
