The Journey: Board a semi-sleeper AC Volvo bus from Delhi around 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Enjoy the smooth highway cruise before the winding mountain roads kick in near Kangra.

The Journey: Arrive in Dharamshala/McLeodGanj by 8:00 AM. Check into your hotel, freshen up and have a hearty breakfast and visit to local sightseeing of McLeodGanj. Use today to stretch your legs and get used to the altitude before tomorrow’s big trek.
Sightseeing Highlights:
Tsuglagkhang Complex: The official residence and temple of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Extremely peaceful.
Bhagsu Waterfall & Bhagsunag Temple: A short walk from the market. (Grab a bite at the famous No Name Cafe or Bhagsu Cake spots).
Dharamkot Village: A hippie-vibe hamlet just above McLeodGanj, perfect for cafe hopping in the evening.
Stay: Hotel in McLeodGanj.
Distance / Time: ~9 km | 4–5 hours of hiking
The Journey: Start early by 7:30 AM to beat the afternoon clouds and heat. The trail takes you through beautiful rhododendron and oak forests. The first half is a gradual incline. The final 1.5 km (known as the "22 Curves") is a steep, rocky zigzag that will test your calves. Reach the Triund Ridge (2,850 meters) by lunchtime. The view is unparalleled: the sheer, massive granite walls of the Dhauladhar range stand right in front of you, while the Kangra valley stretches out below.
Stay: Alpine camping on the Triund ridge under a blanket of stars.
Trek Distance / Time: ~9 km decent | 3 hours
Driving Distance (McLeodGanj to Bir) / Time: ~65 km | 2-2.5 hours
The Journey: Wake up early for a spectacular mountain sunrise. After breakfast on the ridge, begin your descent back down to the base. Meet your driver or take a local bus/cab from McLeodGanj to Bir Billing. Arrive in Bir by late afternoon. Bir is a pristine Tibetan colony known for its cozy cafes, monasteries and world-class paragliding landing site. Head to the Landing Site (Sunset Point) in the evening. Grab a wood-fired pizza, watch dozens of paragliders land against a blazing orange sunset and soak in the incredibly chill vibe.
Stay: Hotel in Bir.
Distance (Bir to Delhi) / Time: ~510 km | 11–12 hours
The Journey: Morning (The Big Jump): Take the operator's 4x4 vehicle up to Billing (the take-off point, 14 km up). Strap into your harness and take a tandem paragliding flight back down to Bir. You’ll be airborne for 15–25 exhilarating minutes!
Afternoon: Rent a bicycle to explore the peaceful Sherab Ling Monastery or the Chokling Monastery and Bangoru Hidden Waterfall.
Evening: Board your overnight Volvo bus from the Bir bus stand (usually departs between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM) back to Delhi.
